It was some ten years ago that I was last in this place, and recorded my impressions in a few lines of text and some photographs.

Now, I’ve come back, stopping to mark the seasons, the days and nights, the sunlight and the rain …People, animals, flowers and plants fade in and out of the mist, ungraspable. All the recurring memories of this place over the past ten years now seem to be fragmented, disrupted, hazy, unreal. They have become fragments that both belong to the past, and yet block the past, making it inaccessible, invisible.

The empty gaps that exist between these fragments are voids that are may be temporarily filled by people, places, and moments in time that come together before vanishing again.

Fragments have a kind of charm of their own, because they lead us towards the past, yet I much more moved by their potential to lead us through the echoes of the past and into the resounding Present.

The story of these ‘fragments’ is still being created, and is unfolding right now, in this moment.
